Proofs of Allah's Oneness abound in the Creation of the Heavens and the EarthAllah reminds us of the creating of the higher and lower worlds,وَالسَّمَآءَ بَنَيْنَـهَا(We constructed the heaven.) meaning, `We made it as a high roof, protected from falling,'بِأَيْدٍ(with Hands), meaning, with strength, according to `Abdullah bin `Abbas, Mujahid, Qatadah, Ath-Thawri and several others,وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ(Verily, We are able to extend the vastness of space thereof.) means, `We made it vast and We brought its roof higher without pillars to support it, and thus it is hanging independently.' (And We have made the earth a Firash), meaning, `We have made it a resting place for the created,'فَنِعْمَ الْمَـهِدُونَ(how excellent a spreader (thereof) are We!), meaning, `We spread it for its inhabitants,'وَمِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْنَا زَوْجَيْنِ(And of everything We have created pairs,) meaning, all the created are in pairs, the heaven and earth, night and day, sun and moon, land and sea, light and darkness, faith and disbelief, death and life, misery and happiness, Paradise and Fire, in addition to the animals and plants. The statement of Allah the Exalted,لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ(that you may remem- ber.) and know that the Creator, Allah, is One without partners,فَفِرُّواْ إِلَى اللَّهِ(So, flee to Allah.) meaning, seek shelter with Him and trust in Him in all of your affairs,إِنِّى لَكُمْ مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌوَلاَ تَجْعَلُواْ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَـهاً ءَاخَرَ(Verily, I am a plain warner to you from Him. And set not up any other god along with Allah.) do not associate any partners with Him,إِنِّى لَكُمْ مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ(Verily, I am a plain warner to you from Him.)

Classical Tafsir: Ma'arif al-Qur'an en

Proofs of Allah's Oneness abound in the Creation of the Heavens and EarthThe preceding verses mentioned the reality of the Hereafter and the Judgment Day, and the punishment of those who denied the reality. The present set of verses reaffirm the perfect power of Allah, reminding us about the reality of the Day of Resurrection and allaying the doubt and suspicion of those who deny the reality. It proves the oneness of Allah and reiterates emphatically to believe in the Messenger ﷺ . (And the sky was built by Us with might, and indeed, We are the One who expands.... 51:47). The word aidin, according to Sayyidna Ibn ` Abbas ؓ ، means strength or power in this context.

Dark Energy Survey: 2.1% measurement of the Baryon Acoustic Oscillation scale from the final dataset 🪐 cosmology

Here, we present the angular diameter distance measurement obtained from the measurement of the Baryonic Acoustic Oscillation (BAO) feature using the completed Dark Energy Survey (DES) data, summarizing the main results of [Phys. Rev. D 110, 063514] and [Phys. Rev. D 110, 063515]. We use a galaxy sample optimized for BAO science in the redshift range 0.6 < z < 1.2, with an effective redshift of $z_{\rm eff}$ = 0.85. Our consensus measurement constrains the ratio of the angular distance to the so

On (non-)dynamical dark energy 🪐 cosmology

The current Universe is composed by a mixture of relativistic species, baryonic matter, dark matter and dark energy which evolve in a non-trivial way at perturbative level. An advanced description of the cosmological dynamics should include non-standard features beyond the simplistic approach idealized by the standard cosmology in which cosmic components do not interact, are adiabatic and dissipationless. We promote a full perturbative analysis of linear scalar perturbations of a non-interacting

On the absence of a universal surface density, and a maximum Newtonian acceleration in dark matter haloes: consequences for MOND 🪐 cosmology

We study the dark matter (DM) surface density using the SPARC sample and {compare} it to Donato et al. (2009) result. By means of MCMC method, we infer the best-fitting parameters for each galaxy. We reobtain the scaling relation between the surface density and luminosity, and several other scaling laws relating the dark matter halo properties to that of the galactic disc properties. We conclude, in contrast with Donato et al. \cite{Donato}, that the dark matter surface density is not a universa

Constraining Early Dark Energy cosmological models with Big Bang Nucleosynthesis 🪐 cosmology

The recent cosmological picture contains a significant tension indicating that our standard $Λ$CDM picture may be incomplete. Early Dark Energy models can alleviate the Hubble tension, by assuming an early acceleration that could explain the divergence between the early and late-time cosmological data. We investigate the implications of Early Dark Energy models on the Big Bang Nucleosynthesis processes by considering several cosmological models, including a model assuming a simple cosmological c

NASA’s James Webb catches a supermassive black hole feeding 🪐 cosmology

JWST has captured unusually detailed images of gas feeding the supermassive black hole at the center of NGC 4696. A vast filament appears to funnel material into an 800-light-year-wide spinning disk, where gas races around at up to 600 kilometers per second. The findings suggest black holes may recycle their own fuel by heating gas with jets and later drawing the cooled material back in.

Historical Context: The Expanding Universe — Quranic Reference Before Hubble 7th century CE (Quranic revelation); 1929 CE (Hubble's confirmation)

The Quran (51:47) states: 'And the heaven We built with might, and indeed, We are its expanders.' The Arabic musi'un comes from wus'a meaning 'to expand.' Edwin Hubble discovered the expanding universe in 1929 CE through observation of galaxies' redshift. The Quran's statement was made 1,300 years before this discovery. This verse is among the most frequently cited Quranic examples of scientific knowledge, though scholars note the verse's primary meaning is about Allah's power and greatness.
